Stuck
Today was one of these days where you can feel how much of a grind indiehacking is.
I went to bed pretty late last night – I was jaded. I couldn’t sleep until midnight because my mind was buzzing, and ended up scrolling until I found some videos to fall asleep on.
I woke up around 7 am. Felt pretty motivated and wanted to solve my issues once and for all. Oh boy, little did I know that I was in for a ride today.
I brushed my teeth, didn’t shower and made some coffee before heading straight to my desk. I just remember mumbling something to my girlfriend before shutting the door behind me.
Didn’t get anything done until 11 am. I suddenly got hungry, so I showered and had lunch. Then I went back to reading and trying to debug my build.
By around 2–3 pm, I was starting to pull my hair again. While waiting for another build to finish, I gave in and took a nap.
Woke up around 4. I was feeling a little bit better from my short sleep. Like, in a better mood.
I tried to open my app again and saw it crash. I don’t know if that was the sleep but I wasn’t that angry. I just felt like I had the energy to keep going.
At that moment, I heard my girlfriend come back home. I went out to greet her but in the back of mind I was thinking “how many more hours (or even days) am I going to spend on this?”. This was already my second or third day in a row dealing with this. Maybe I didn't read enough documentation.
I lamented a bit and my girlfriend cheered me up a little. I felt like a loser.
Angry, I went back to work and furiously Googled a few things, found some obscure posts on Reddit where someone was sharing a few ways to monitor my iPhone’s activity.
Out of all of the methods, this one made sense. I tried... and... it worked!
I finally got some logs and was able to pinpoint the issues.
I threw my fist in the air as a sign of victor and treated myself to a walk and a good dinner after.
It’s 1am now. I still haven’t solved the issue, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Hopefully tomorrow I’ve got better news.
That’s it for today!
